Nike Yetunde Sidiqat Ijaiya (Professor of Educational Management, University of
Ilorin) holds a Ph.D in Educational Supervision, Masters Degree in Educational
Psychology from the University College, Cardiff (now University of Cardiff),
South Wales, and a Bachelor of Arts Education, History from Ahmadu Bello
University, Zaria, Nigeria.
Professor Nike Yetunde Sidiqat Ijaiya, born at Offa,
Kwara State, Nigeria, attended Offa Grammar School, Offa for her secondary
education. She began her teaching career in 1977 and has taught at various
secondary schools in Kwara State during which she also participated in
inspection of schools. She also lectured at the Kwara State College of
Education, Ilorin where she rose to the rank of Principal Lecturer and held the
position of Acting Head of Department of General Studies and Acting Dean of the
School of Education before her present appointment at the University of Ilorin.
She had successfully headed the Department of Educational Management, for three
years and currently the Coordinator of the Center for Supportive Services for
the Deaf (CSSD), a Federal Government project aimed at equalizing educational
opportunity for hearing-impaired students. She has also been External Examiner
to some Colleges of Education in the country and participated in the
accreditation of some Universities and Colleges of Education. She has also
participated in some educational forums at State level, which were directed at
policy reforms and quality assurance in Kwara State as a lead paper presenter
and committee member.
Professor Nike Yetunde Sidiqat Ijaiya has authored
and co – authored several publications in Educational Management.
Professor Nike Yetunde Sidiqat Ijaiya is married and
blessed with children.
