Olabanji Orilonise was born in Ghana in 1941. His father was Alhaji Raji Ike-Olohun omo Ayiloye Oriolonise of Esinkin’s Compound, Ojomu ward, Offa while his mother was Alhaja Umuani Moyaade Ike-Olohun, Omo Abubakar Adeniran Akano of Agbopa's Compound also in Ojomu Ward.
His parents sojourned in Ghana and were a diamond merchant and petty
trader in food- stuff respectively.
Oloye Banji Orilonise the Amoye of Offa attended English Church Mission
Primary School, Awaso,
Ghana from 1950 to 1952 and he was brought home to Offa, Nigeria in 1953.
He attended Saint Mark's Primary School, Offa from 1953 - 1958 and was admitted
into Saint Paul's College, Wusassa, Zaria in January 1959 for his Secondary
School Education. He left Saint Paul’s College, Zaria in 1963, studied
privately for his advanced level and was admitted into the Ahmadu Belle
University, Zaria from 1967 - 1970 to read a degree in law.
He passed his final degree examination at the Ahmad Bello University,
Zaria and was awarded the LL. B. (Hons.) degree of that University in June,
1970.
Oloye Amoye, Hon, Justice Banji Orilonise attended the Nigerian Law
School, Lagos from October, 1970 to June 1971 and was called to the Nigerian
Bar as a Banister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on 18th June, 1971.
Oloye Amoye Orilonise started his career early in life as a Cadastral
Officer in the Survey Department, of the Norther Nigeria Ministry of Town and
Country Planning Kaduna South in 1964, He attended the Survey School, Zaria in
1966 - 1967 before he resigned his appointment in October 1967 to enable him
pursue Higher Education in the University.
Having been called to the Nigeria Bar and enrolled as a Banister &
Solicitor of the Supreme Court,
Olabanji Orilonise went into private legal practice in October, 1971 was
based, first in Gusau and laten
Sokoto in the then North Western State of Nigeria. His practice of law
took him far and wide to Birnin-
Kebbi, Minna, Kano, Kaduna, Ibadan, Zaria and Jos.
He served briefly as a member of the Judicial Service Commission in Kwara
State from 1984 - 1985. He was in active private legal practice from 1971 -
1986 and was Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association in Sokoto before he was
appointed a Judge of the High Court of Kwara State on 5th May, 1986.
He was the resident High Court Judge in Omu-Aran Judicial Division of the
High Court of Kwara State from 1986 - 1991. Me was later reposted to llorin
Judicial Division.
As a High Court Judge, Hon.
Justice Orilonise served as a member of the Kwara State Local Government Election
Petition Tribunal from 1993-1997.
He was appointed Chairman of the Kwara State Local Government Election
Petition tribunal in 2003. Me was also Chairman of the Armed Robbery Tribunal
in Kwara State.
He served as the Chairman of the National Assembly, Governorship and
State House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal in Benin-City, Edo State
from 18th May, 2007 to 22nd February, 2008 when he voluntarily relinquished
that position on his attainment of the mandatory retirement age of 65 year for
High Court Judges.
